Mike McAvoy is President and CEO of Onion, Inc. and Executive Vice President of Sales for Fusion Media Group (FMG), a division of Univision Communications Inc. (UCI). He is responsible for the strategy and day-to-day operations of The Onion; its sister publication, The A.V. Club; and internet parody site, ClickHole. McAvoy has spearheaded the creation of The Onion’s in-house creative services department, Onion Labs — producing native advertising programs and executed various creative projects for brands including HP, 7-Eleven, Adobe, Clorox, Home Depot, Microsoft, Lenovo, and YouTube. Mike also initiated the launch of Onion Studios, a dynamic digital video network featuring the best programming from Onion, Inc.’s iconic properties, as well as original series produced by the company’s world-renowned creative staff.
